The electrive drive concept eDrive unites driving pleasure with the technology of the future. The basis is the BMW 1 Series Coupé whose conventional engine is replaced by eDrive which is made up of three parts: a compact electric synchronous motor on the rear axle with 125 kW (170 hp), 250 Nm and an impressive speed range. The liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery, developed by BMW, which not only provides neutral handling and everyday suitability but also space for four seats and a boot capacity of 200 litres. And the motor control unit that charges the battery to up to 125 kW during braking.
Fresh energy for the BMW Concept ActiveE is readily available, for example in car parks. Public charging stations and private wallboxes fully charge the battery in just three hours. An intelligent App for Smartphones is also available that not only provides information about the battery level, range and the next charging station but also serves as a remote control for the vehicle`s air conditioning and heating systems.
