The hallmarks of the BMW Concept ActiveE are characteristic BMW rear-wheel drive and a powerful electric motor. 125 kW (170 hp) and 250 Nm ensure dynamic performance. Futhermore the electric motor in the BMW Concept ActiveE also serves as a generator and charges the battery using kinetic energy as soon as the driver takes their foot away from the accelerator. When driving in the city, the motor alone can be used to brake in 75 percent of all situations. The foot brake is almost superfluous. The result: the range of the BMW Concept ActiveE is increased by up to 20 percent allowing you to enjoy an average of 160 kilometres of emission-free driving pleasure. Driving with the air conditioning or heating system on slightly reduces the vehicle`s range while optimum vehicle utlisation increases it.
